Sanshu Izutsu House is the restored merchant residence at the heart of Hiketa. The Sano family made its money from soy sauce, sake, and landholding, and the house now serves as a small cultural hub with shops, food, and hands-on activities tied to local crafts.
It is the natural first stop in Hiketa: you get a sense of the town's old money, then step back outside into the streets that supported it.
