Aoki Residence

Aoki Residence is an early 20th-century private house built in 1915 as a retirement home for the Aoki family. The walled compound includes the main residence, storehouses, and outbuildings set within a large plot, giving a good look at the scale and layout of a prosperous rural household.

The main building has an irimoya-style roof and a mix of tatami rooms, reception spaces, bedrooms, and earthen-floor work areas. It was designated a national Tangible Cultural Property in 1998.
