Former Nagaoka Residence is a relocated thatched farmhouse in Wakimachi and an Important Cultural Property. Its mud-and-earth walls and yosemune-style roof show the building style once common on the dry southern slopes of the Sanuki Mountains.
It makes a good companion stop to the Udatsu townscape and Yoshida Residence, especially for travelers interested in rural architecture rather than merchant houses alone.
