Naruto German House

Naruto German House tells the story of the World War I prisoner-of-war camp that once stood in the area. German prisoners built stone bridges and memorials, and the museum uses documents and displays to show how they lived and interacted with local residents.

The present building dates from 1993, so the value is in the history rather than the architecture. It works best as a stop for travellers already exploring Naruto, especially when paired with the nearby whirlpools.
