Hideyo Noguchi Seishunkan occupies the former hospital where the young Hideyo Noguchi was treated after a childhood burn left his hand badly damaged. The successful operation is said to have helped inspire his later career in medicine.
The second floor now holds a small museum about Noguchi, while the first floor is a cafe. It is a compact but meaningful stop for travellers interested in local history and one of Japan's best-known scientists.
