Nisshinkan

Nisshinkan is a reconstructed Aizu domain school, originally founded in 1803 to educate the sons of samurai families. The museum explains how boys were trained in scholarship, ethics, martial arts, and social discipline before the upheavals of the Boshin War.

The site is more hands-on than a standard history museum. Depending on the day, visitors can try activities such as archery, tea ceremony, or painting local folk toys, which makes it a useful companion to Tsuruga Castle and Iimoriyama.
