The Noguchi Hideyo Memorial Museum preserves the childhood home of the bacteriologist whose work helped shape early research into syphilis and yellow fever. The personal story is unusually vivid: burns suffered here as a child helped push Noguchi toward medicine.
Inside, exhibits cover his life, his research, and basic bacteriology. It is a good side trip from Aizuwakamatsu if you are interested in Japanese science history rather than another samurai-era stop.
