Kanjizaio-in Ato is a restored garden site built by the wife of Fujiwara Motohira. The temple buildings are gone, but the pond and garden outline survive well enough to show how Hiraizumi's Pure Land vision spread across more than one complex.
It is a quiet stop between the major sights, and worth a pause if you are walking or cycling the town.
