Mototaki Underflow is a curtain of Mount Chokai snowmelt seeping through rock and moss before dropping into a cold stream. It is only about five metres high, but the width, mist, and green wall behind the water make it the most memorable sight in Nikaho.
The short walk in is part of the pleasure. Go after rain or in fresh summer green, when the moss looks almost unreal.
