Nakajimadai Forest

Nakajimadai Forest, around Shishigahana Marsh, is a beech-forest walking area below Mount Chokai. The trails pass old trees, spring channels, and wetland patches where the water can take on a faint blue tint.

It is not a hard hike, which is the point. The main loop lets you get into the mountain forest without committing to a full climb of Chokai.
