The Cave Bar

Address Petra Guest House, by the site entrance

A bar inside a Nabataean rock tomb, attached to the Petra Guest House just outside the main site entrance. The walls are sandstone, the ceiling shows chisel marks, and the niches where sarcophagi once stood are now lined with bottles.

Cold beer, decent wine list, basic snacks. Prices are roughly double anywhere else in Wadi Musa, which is part of the deal. Open in the evenings; a place to soak your feet after the canyon.

A story
The bar is set inside a 2,000-year-old Nabataean rock-cut tomb. It is one of the few places in the world where you can drink a beer in a Roman-era burial chamber and the management consider it perfectly normal.
