Stupa View Restaurant is one of several rooftop establishments directly overlooking the Boudha Stupa from the western side of the ring road. The view is the reason to come: a large terrace with unobstructed sightlines onto the stupa dome and the prayer flags strung above it. The morning, when the early kora is active below, is a particularly good time for breakfast.
The menu covers Tibetan, Nepali, and continental dishes. The momos here are reliable, and the coffee is better than average for the area. Service is unhurried, which suits the contemplative atmosphere. In the evening the stupa is illuminated and the terrace remains open.
