Khachoe Ghakyil Ling Nunnery, also known as Kopan Nunnery, is one of Nepal's largest Tibetan Buddhist nunneries, with hundreds of nuns studying and living on the hillside above Boudha. It is closely linked to nearby Kopan Monastery but has its own campus and rhythm.
Visitors should come quietly and respectfully, treating it as a working religious community rather than a sightseeing compound. It is most worthwhile as part of a walk around the monasteries north of Boudhanath Stupa.
