Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery

Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling, also known as the White Monastery, is one of the most active Tibetan Buddhist monasteries ringing the Boudha Stupa. It belongs to the Nyingma school and houses several hundred monks and nuns. The main shrine hall contains an impressive collection of statues and thangka paintings, and the monastery hosts regular pujas (ritual prayers) that visitors may observe.

The monastery has a strong connection to Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, a prominent teacher whose classes and teachings draw students from around the world. The complex includes a nunnery, a school, and a medical clinic. It is more active and less tourist-orientated than some of the larger monastery complexes, which gives it an authentic atmosphere.
