Siete Pecados Marine Park

Siete Pecados — "Seven Sins" — is a cluster of seven small coral islands sitting within the marine reserve, accessible by bangka (outrigger boat) from the Sagay City port in about 20 minutes. The name is cheerfully unexplained, though the most popular theory involves seven fishing boats that ran aground here during a storm. The islands themselves are tiny, sandy, and fringed with good snorkelling reef.

The shallow water between and around the islands has coral gardens in reasonable condition, with plenty of fish. Most visitors come on day trips with fins and snorkels; the water is warm year-round and visibility is generally good outside the monsoon months. The bangka hire from the port is straightforward — agree on a price for the round trip and a reasonable amount of time on the water before you set off. Bring food and water; there are no facilities on the islands.
