Joonhwadong Church

Joonhwadong Church is one of Baengnyeong Island's most important Christian heritage sites. The congregation traces its roots to the late 19th century, after earlier missionary contact with the island, and the church is often described as the second Presbyterian church established in Korea.

The building is modest, but the history gives it weight: Christianity reached this remote island early, and the church remains a useful stop for visitors interested in Baengnyeong's religious and local history.
