Daecheon Beach is Boryeong's front porch: a broad, sandy Yellow Sea beach with pine trees, sunset views, and the city's main summer energy. It is pleasant enough on an ordinary beach day, but it becomes something else during the Boryeong Mud Festival, when mud slides, wrestling pits, concerts, and beach crowds take over.
Come in July if you want the full festival noise. Outside that window, Daecheon is calmer and works better for swimming, a seafood meal, or a simple walk along the shore.
