Chuam Beach is not Donghae's biggest beach, but it has the better setting: sand, pines, coastal rocks and Chotdaebawi within the same short walk. It is particularly good early in the morning, before the day-trippers arrive.
Swimming is seasonal, but the beach works year-round as part of a sunrise walk. Keep going along the coast if the weather is clear.
