Gunsan Modern Architecture Museum occupies a former Joseon Bank building from the Japanese colonial period. The building itself is the main exhibit: a piece of early 20th-century financial architecture that helps explain why central Gunsan feels different from many Korean port cities.
The museum works best as part of a short walking route through Gunsan's modern-history district, along with the Modern History Museum, old warehouses, and nearby colonial-era streets.
