Gubongdo Sunset Observatory is one of Daebudo's better places to watch the light drop over the Yellow Sea. The viewpoint is reached by following the Haesolgil coastal trail around Gubongdo.
It is a simple stop, but a good one: sea air, low islands, and an open western horizon. Time the walk for late afternoon if the weather is clear.
