Woljeongsa is the place in Pyeongchang that still feels important after the Olympics have faded from mind. The temple sits inside Odaesan National Park, with painted halls, Buddhist art, and a famous octagonal stone pagoda at its centre.
The approach matters as much as the buildings. The fir-tree forest path softens the visit, especially early or late in the day, and makes Woljeongsa feel rooted in the mountain rather than dropped beside a car park.
