Tongyeong Cable Car is the easy way to understand why the city matters. The cabins climb from Donam-dong toward Mireuksan, and the upper walks look over Tongyeong harbour, the islands of Hallyeohaesang, and the ridges running south toward the open sea.
Go early or late for clearer light. On a bright day this is the first thing to do in Tongyeong; on a hazy day it is still a useful way to get your bearings.
