This full-size turtle ship replica sits near the harbour and gives Yeosu's Admiral Yi story a physical form. Turtle ships were armoured Joseon warships associated with Yi Sun-sin's naval campaigns against Japan in the late 16th century.
The display is simple, but it works well after Jinnamgwan: first the command hall, then the kind of vessel that made the Yeosu coast matter in Korean naval history.
