Khao Lak Beach stretches about three kilometres along the Andaman coast, backed by casuarina trees with views out to island rock formations offshore. It's the town's main strip of sand — quiet by Phuket standards, with a scattering of resorts rather than a wall of hotels, and calm enough water for swimming most of the year outside the May-to-October monsoon.
