A long-running Irish pub on Beach Road, more relaxed than the Bangla Road circus a block inland. Wooden interior, Guinness on tap, a covered terrace looking at the sea across the road, and live cover bands every night from around 9pm playing decent rock and pop standards.
Food is pub-fare — fish and chips, shepherd's pie, burgers — at reasonable prices, and the bar is open from morning until late. Good place for a starter beer before heading into the Bangla Road madness, or a refuge if you want a quiet pint somewhere with a normal volume.
