Wat Hat Som Paen is a quiet temple west of Ranong, set beside Khlong Hat Som Paen. Its small fish sanctuary is the main reason to stop, with protected brook carp gathering in the stream near the temple.
It is a modest sight, but a pleasant detour if you are exploring the hills and hot springs outside town.
