Three Pagodas Pass is more interesting for its setting and history than for the three small chedis themselves. The route through the Tenasserim Hills has long connected Thailand and Myanmar, and the modern border market gives the place a frontier feel.
Check locally before going. Border access can change, and the trip is still worthwhile as a half-day excursion even if crossing is not possible.
