Sim Isan is the northeastern-style ordination hall at Wat Pa Saeng Arun, just east of Khon Kaen. Its low, solid form is typical of Isan temple architecture, but the detail is what makes it worth the detour: the murals use Mudmi silk patterns associated with the province, turning a religious building into a small lesson in local craft.
