Wat Phra Narai Maharat is one of the old quarter's quieter sights. Its small shrine sits on an island in a pond, reached by a bridge, and houses a sandstone image of Vishnu that points back to the Khmer world that once shaped this part of Thailand.
It is a good contrast to the busy Ya Mo area nearby. Walk the pond edge slowly and look for monitor lizards in the water and undergrowth.
