Wat Burapha Phiram

Roi Et temple known for a 59-metre standing Buddha that rises above the town.

Wat Burapha Phiram is Roi Et's most visible temple, thanks to Phra Phuttha Ratana Mongkhon Maha Muni, a tall standing Buddha in the attitude of blessing. The image rises above the low city grid and can be climbed internally to about knee height.

The temple is worth visiting for the scale alone, but it is also a good reminder that Roi Et's public identity is strongly Buddhist and local rather than tourist-facing.
