Wat Pa Sak sits just outside the old city wall and is often the most rewarding ruin in Chiang Saen. The name means "teak forest temple", and the main chedi still carries elegant Lanna proportions and stucco detail.
It is a short ride from the riverfront, but it feels more open and archaeological than the central temple sites. Give it time rather than treating it as a quick photo stop.
