The An Cu Lagoon lies behind the Lang Co spit, a wide shallow body of brackish water connected to the sea by a narrow channel. From the road bridge above the channel you can watch boats slide in and out with the tide and see the patchwork of bamboo poles and floating cages where the village raises oysters, fish and prawns.
A small boat tour from the lagoon side of the village is one of the better ways to spend a morning. The fishermen take visitors out to see the floating farms, demonstrate the cast-net throw, and stop for coffee at one of the stilted shacks. Most boats can be arranged through guesthouses on the beach.
