Wotje Lagoon

Wotje Lagoon is large enough to make the atoll feel like a small inland sea. From the village side, the opposite rim can look impossibly low and distant, a thin green line between water and sky.

Boat trips, fishing, and reef visits depend on local arrangements and weather. The lagoon is at its best when you are not rushing: moving slowly between islets, watching the light change on the water, and understanding why the Marshalls are organized around lagoons rather than land.
