The most accessible and dramatic of Pohnpei's many waterfalls, Kepirohi plunges 20 metres over a black basalt face into a clear pool about 50 minutes by car from Kolonia. The pool is wide enough for a proper swim and cool enough to feel genuinely refreshing after the jungle drive. On weekdays you are likely to have it largely to yourself.
The waterfall sits on traditional land and a small entry fee is paid to the landowners at the gate — this is standard practice across Pohnpei and part of the local economy. The short walk from the road through forest is easy. Swimming is the main draw, but the basalt rock formations around the pool are also worth taking time to notice. Many tours from Kolonia combine Kepirohi with a visit to Nan Madol on the same day.
