This 1,150-hectare park on the northeastern shore of Cold Lake is the city's outdoor backyard. Sandy beaches front the lake, and boreal forest trails wind through the interior — good for spotting white-tailed deer, moose, and more than a hundred species of birds. The campground is well set up, and the open-air amphitheatre hosts summer programmes. In winter, groomed trails serve cross-country skiers and snowshoers. The park is only about 10 km from downtown Cold Lake, making it easy to spend a morning on the beach and an afternoon on the trails.
