Alberta's north is not exactly skiing country, which makes Kinosoo Ridge a genuine surprise. The resort offers a solid vertical drop and a handful of runs suitable for all levels, plus a terrain park and night skiing. It's nothing like Banff or Jasper — but it's 30 seconds from town, costs a fraction of the mountain resorts, and on a clear day the views over the boreal forest are genuinely beautiful. Lift tickets are cheap by any standard. The hill also runs tubing and fat-biking events in winter, and the chairlifts operate in summer for sightseeing.
