Lakeland Provincial Park

Backcountry lake park east of town with canoe routes, birding, and wilderness camping

Lakeland Provincial Park is the wilder half of the Lac La Biche outdoor story. It lies east of town, with lakes, boreal forest, designated backcountry campsites, and routes for canoeing, kayaking, hiking, cycling, fishing, and winter skiing.

This is not a quick roadside viewpoint. It is best for travellers who have time and gear, or who want Lac La Biche to be a base for a real backcountry day rather than just a stop on the highway.
