The Helen Schuler Nature Centre sits in the Oldman River valley, where Lethbridge drops suddenly from prairie grid into coulees, cottonwoods, and walking trails. Inside, exhibits explain the local ecology; outside, the centre acts as a practical starting point for exploring the river-bottom parks.
It is one of the better places in town to understand the landscape rather than just look at it from above. Combine it with Indian Battle Park or the High Level Bridge for a half-day that shows why Lethbridge's setting is more dramatic than its street plan first suggests.
