Sagitawa Lookout is the place to understand Peace River quickly. From the hillside south of town you can see the Peace and Smoky rivers come together, the town stretched along the valley floor, and the flat northern prairie sitting high above it all.
The name comes from a Cree word meaning "where the rivers meet", which is exactly the point of the stop. There are picnic tables and interpretive panels, but the real reason to come is the view.
