Twelve Foot Davis Gravesite is a small memorial park on Grouard Hill, east of town, with one of Peace River's best views. Henry Fuller Davis got his nickname from a twelve-foot gold claim that made him enough money to open a trading post near the future town.
The gravesite is modest, but the setting does the work: paths, benches, interpretive panels, and a lookout over the town and rivers below. It is the sort of local story that sticks because it belongs so completely to the place.
