Kettle Valley Rail Trail

Scenic rail trail above Penticton with lake views, vineyards, tunnels, and old railway grades

The Kettle Valley Rail Trail is Penticton's best easy outdoor outing. The old railway grade climbs the benches above Okanagan Lake, passing vineyards, dry hillsides, and viewpoints where the lake spreads out below you.

You can walk a short section from town, but a bike makes the trail much more rewarding. The grade is gentle because it was built for trains, not hikers, so the effort-to-view ratio is excellent.
