Patricia Theatre

Restored 1928 cinema in the townsite, often called Canada's oldest operating movie theatre.

The Patricia Theatre is the building that makes the townsite feel alive rather than merely preserved. The current Spanish Renaissance-style cinema opened in 1928 on the site of an earlier theatre, and it still screens films and hosts events in the heart of the old company town.

Even if you do not catch a film, look in if the doors are open. The restoration kept the old cinema atmosphere while bringing the projection and sound up to date, a neat balance in a town where heritage can easily feel too earnest.
