Butze Rapids Trail is the easy rainforest escape from Prince Rupert. The loop runs through mossy coastal forest to viewpoints over tidal water, where the flow through the narrows can look more like a river than the sea.
The trailhead is on Highway 16, a few kilometres from downtown. Allow about 90 minutes for the loop, and expect roots, mud, and sudden weather even when the walk is not technically hard.
