Kootenay National Park

Rocky Mountain national park beginning at Radium, with canyon drives, hot springs, and high passes.

Kootenay National Park starts at Radium's doorstep and climbs north through Sinclair Canyon, Marble Canyon, forested valleys, and alpine passes toward the Trans-Canada Highway. Even if you are not crossing the whole park, the first stretch out of Radium gives a strong taste of the western Rockies.

The park makes Radium more than a hot-pool stop. Pair the pools with a canyon walk or a scenic drive and the village becomes a good spare-day base.
