The Stawamus Chief is the cliff that makes Squamish impossible to miss. Its granite walls draw climbers from far beyond British Columbia, while steep hiking trails lead to three summit viewpoints over Howe Sound, the town, and the surrounding peaks.
The hike is short in distance but not casual: expect stairs, roots, rock, and a hard climb. Even if you do not go up, the Chief gives Squamish its shape.
