Scout Island is a small nature sanctuary on the west end of Williams Lake, with marsh, beach, picnic areas, short trails, and a nature house run by local naturalists. It is an easy place to see birds and lake-edge habitat without leaving town.
The trails are short, but they make a good reset after a long drive on Highway 97. Bring binoculars if you have them.
