Shoal Lake and Lakeview Park

Shoal Lake itself is the reason most people stop here. The lake offers reliable fishing for walleye (pickerel) and northern pike, and in summer it is popular for boating and water-skiing. Lakeview Park sits on the northern shore with lakeside camping including electrical hookups, a boat launch, and basic facilities.

In autumn the surrounding wetlands become a staging area for migrating Canada geese and various duck species — hunters arrive from across Manitoba and beyond for the waterfowl season, which typically runs from September into November. For those not hunting, the spectacle of thousands of geese rising at dawn from the marshes is worth the detour on its own.
