The Restigouche River Experience Centre sits on the riverfront in a building inspired by the old fishing camps of the Restigouche. It is the place to make sense of why salmon matters so much here: the river's ecology, the sport-fishing tradition, and the people who lived around it.
The centre also gives useful cultural context, with exhibits touching on Acadian, Scottish, and Mi'gmaq communities in the region. It is not a huge museum, but it pairs well with a waterfront walk.
