Restigouche Sam is Campbellton's big roadside-to-riverfront oddity: an 8.5-metre stainless-steel Atlantic salmon set on Salmon Boulevard. It is a little kitsch, but it also gets straight to the point. This is a town that built part of its identity around the Restigouche River and its salmon runs.
The sculpture is most useful as a stop on a walk along the Esplanade Restigouche, with Sugarloaf Mountain behind town and Quebec just across the river.
