Sugarloaf Provincial Park is the main outdoor reason to come to Campbellton. The 305-metre mountain rises directly behind town, with trails through forest and open viewpoints over the Restigouche River, Chaleur Bay, the Gaspe hills, and Campbellton itself.
The park has more than 25 kilometres of hiking and biking trails, including the Terry Fox Trail around the base and a short climb to the summit. In winter it switches mood completely, with downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.
